PA kidnaps, attacks violently Zakaria Zubeidi's son in Jenin
In the early hours of Saturday morning, confrontations exploded in the West Bank city of Jenin after Palestinian Authority security troops apprehended three people, including the son of a leader who escaped from Israeli custody last year.
Muhammad Zubeidi, the son of Zakaria Zubeidi, the Palestinian prisoner who escaped Israel's Gilboa prison and went on the run for a week before being revived, was imprisoned by PA security forces.
According to Haaretz, the Palestinian officers also captured three other people. The arrests were made for no apparent reason.
Video clips purportedly showing officers apprehending and beating up younger Zubeidi disseminated online, causing outrage in this city.
To protest the detention, dozens of armed Jenin inhabitants faced PA security forces. In a gunfight with security forces, demonstrators reportedly fired live bullets at the PA's headquarters in the city, according to Arabic media findings.
