Lebanon vows not to receive any financial bribes from the United States of America in return for settling Palestinian refugees, Lebanese parliament speaker, Nabih Berri said on Sunday.
US President Donald Trump offered a $ 50 billion investment to lift the Palestinian and neighboring Arab states' economies, however, the plan was met by a broad rejection in the Arab world.
Palestinian refugees can't be permanently settled in the country. This is what has long been held by Lebanese parties.
"Those who think that Lebanon, despite its suffocating economic crisis, may be lured by the billions of dollars proposed are very mistaken," Berri said in a press statement.
"Palestinians must have the right of return to their homeland that's why we definitely reject their permanent settlement in Lebanon," he added.
