Syria’s air defenses have shot down early on Thursday number of Israeli missiles, which targeting the capital of Damascus, and there are no reports of damage or injuries, Syrian state media reported.

The first strikes, which took place at 1:12am local time, targeted military positions around Damascus, while the second wave 30 minutes later targeted army strongholds near Daraa, Quneitra and Reef.

Syrian air defenses downed “most” of the missiles before they reached their targets, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency, which said the attack targeted Kiswa area, Marj Al-Sultan, Baghdad Bridge, and South Izra, all in and around Damascus.

No party has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but Syrian state media pinned the attack on Israel, the spokesman for the Israel occupation forces declined to comment on foreign reports.

Tel Aviv has repeatedly flown bombing raids against what it claims to be 'legitimate Iranian targets' in Syria in recent years, disregarding the country’s sovereignty and international laws prohibiting acts of aggression.
