You can increase your body's input from tomatoes by juice, or prepare a tomato soup, because it contains heart-friendly nutrients. According to a recent Japanese study, eating more tomato juice helps lower both blood pressure and high cholesterol.
The Japanese study was based on an experiment involving 184 men and 297 women. Experience showed that daily intake of tomato juice reduced the mean systolic pressure reading from 141.3 to 137 and diastolic pressure from 83.3 to 80.9.
The experience also showed a low level of LDL cholesterol by a small amount of intake of tomato juice daily.
Cooked tomatoes contain antioxidants that work as sunscreens, as well as a rich source of vitamin C.
