Mass demolition of Palestinian homes
Cuba condemned in a statement the demolition of hundreds of Palestinian homes by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied East Jerusalem.
Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, said Thursday on his Twitter account that Cuba condemns the demolition of hundreds of Palestinian homes.
Rodriguez confirmed Cuba's support for and commitment to the Palestinian cause.
"Cuba condemns the demolitions of hundreds of Palestinian homes by Israeli military forces in the occupied zone of East Jerusalem. I repeat Cuba's commitment to and support for the Palestinian cause," he wrote on @BrunoRguezP.
Countries like Spain, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom also condemned the demolitions of Palestinian buildings by Israel in Wadi Hummus municipality, in southeastern Jerusalem.
A communiqué signed by the four European nations warns that the demolitions of buildings on the occupied territory violate international humanitarian law and resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, backed up the declaration issued by the humanitarian coordinator on the occupied Palestinian territory, Jamie McGoldrick, against those actions.
Along with other UN officials in the region, McGoldrick regretted the destruction of homes by Israeli authorities.
