Austria's parliament has decided to ban smoking in cafes and restaurants, ending a key policy for the right-wing government that has recently collapsed and canceled the applicable banning of smoking.
Health activists have praised the parliament's ban on smoking which is due to go into force in November.
Pamela Randy-Fagner, leader of the Social Democratic Party, said, "At last, a law could be passed to would improve the lives of Austrians."
The former government's decision has also angered health advocates and shoed many tourists who want to spend mostly smoke-free evenings in Austria.
It is noteworthy that in Austria, a temporary government is conducting civil employees until parliamentary elections are widely held in September.
