French Consul condemns Israeli violations against Palestinians in Jerusalem

"French well-known position remains steady and will not change. And the ultimate purpose is to have Jerusalem as the capital of two states; Palestine and Israel through negotiations that should be held, French Consul- General in Jerusalem, Pierre Kouchard," said in a recent meeting.

Pierre Kouchard stated these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of Palestinian civil community on Sunday.

The delegation delivered their message protesting the circumstances in which the mayor of Paris Municipality commenced "Jerusalem arena" in one of Paris streets upon the request of Israeli occupation municipality's mayor in Jerusalem.

The decision of commencement has provoked Palestinians and pro-Palestine activists in France. Therefore, they organized a protest on Sunday at the same day and date of commencement.

Responding to this decision, the Consul General said, "Unilateral or symbolic gestures don't change France firm and well-known position regarding the Palestinian cause."

"The main goal is to make Jerusalem the capital of the two states in accordance with the ways that should be designed through negotiations," Kouchard went on saying.

While the French Consul condemned the ongoing harassments against the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem in recent months.
