Palestinian Christians belong to one of a number of Christian denominations including Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy, Catholicism (Eastern and Western rites) other branches of Protestantism and others.
They number 6-7% of the 12 million Palestinians.
In Gaza, there are about 1,300 Christians. Gaza’s Christian community largely lives within the city, chiefly in the neighboring areas of the three main churches:
- Church of Saint Porphyrius.
- The Holy Family Catholic Parish in Zeitoun Street.
- The Gaza Baptist Church.
