Spokesman of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Daoud Shihab said in an official statement commenting on reaching a truce-agreement between the Palestinian factions and Israeli occupation:

There is a truce-agreement to restore calm and stop the Israeli aggression against our people.

The truce has come into force since 4:30 am; resistance is committed to it as long as the enemy is committed.

Israeli occupation is committed to end the siege and implement the mechanisms we have agreed upon.

Our people are waiting for the end of the siege and this is what the leadership of the resistance, which is committed to lifting the siege, is trying to achieve and considers it a criterion for the success of any efforts to stabilize the situation.
