According to researches by Tufts University, adequate intake of certain nutrients is associated with a reduction in all-cause mortality when the nutrient source is foods, but not supplements, according to a new study. There was no association between dietary supplement use and a lower risk of death.
Researchers also show that people who take unnecessary supplements of vitamin D may also have deadly consequences.
They found people could be putting themselves at risk from taking calcium supplement doses higher than one-thousand milligrams a day.
