One Palestinian was killed and dozens injured Friday in a daylong of fierce clashes between angry Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli soldiers in various West Bank towns and in eastern Gaza Strip, close to the border with Israel, medics said.
The health ministry in the West Bank said in a press statement that Mahmoud Nakhla, 18 years old from al Jalazon refugee camp close to Ramallah was killed during clashes with Israeli soldiers in the area.
The ministry said that more than 49 demonstrators were shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers’ gunfire in the clashes with the Israeli soldiers in the areas of Nablus and Ramallah.
Ashraf al Qedra, health ministry spokesman in Gaza told reporters that around 50 Palestinian protesters were shot and wounded by Israeli soldiers’ gunfire during clashes in eastern Gaza Strip.
Islamic Hamas movement and other Palestinian factions called on the Palestinians in the Palestinian Territories to demonstrate again the Israeli army and consider Friday as a day of Rage.
Gaza Health Ministry said that since the beginning of the marches of return on March 30, the Israeli army soldiers shot and killed 240 Palestinians and wounded 25,000 others.
The Palestinian demonstrators joined Friday the 38th Friday of protests, better called as the Great Marches of Return and breaking the Israeli siege.
Khalil-Al-Haya a senior Hamas official told demonstrators in eastern Gaza that the Palestinians reject all American and Israeli projects, plane and policies against the Palestinian people.
“We praise and back the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank and the operations that are carried out against the occupation,” he said.
Tension between Israel and the Palestinians had flared this week after four Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers were killed in three separate incidents in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.
Palestinian security sources in the West Bank said that the Israeli army forces detained around 100 Palestinians during raids of their houses all over the West Bank towns, mainly in the area of Ramallah.
