Palestinian employees call EU to return unjustly cut salaries by PA
The Committee for Employees whose salaries have been cut on Thursday called on the ambassadors of the European Union, one of the major funders of the salary budget in the Palestinian Authority to put pressure on the authority to return their unjustly cut salaries.
The committee released a statement to the ambassadors of European Union: "Salaries of the employees cut-off by the Palestinian Authority".
The statement said: "The Palestinian Authority illegally punishes government employees who receive their salaries from the public treasury by cutting off their salaries and suspending them unlawfully, without any legal justification."
"We wish you, as the ambassadors of the European Union, one of the major funders of the salary budget in the Palestinian Authority to consider our just cause, and to put pressure on the authority to return our unjustly cut salaries, with retroactive effect, because our children are paying the price for our positions that oppose the repression practiced by the Palestinian Authority towards freedom of opinion and towards activists opinion, in violation of all international laws and treaties", it added.
The committee asserted the Excellency of the European Union and various international and human rights organizations, and each time when palestinians received a promise of decisive responses towards their just cause, but they wait each time without hearing any answer.
