Antalya, Turkey's Mediterranean seaside city, is one of the regions where fires are raging. While evacuation attempts in the Akseki district's Kepezbeleni village were underway, an 82-year-old man who was left alone at home perished.

On Thursday, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli reported that ten people are stranded in the province's Oymapinar Dam, and that certain neighborhoods have been evacuated.

"For our inhabitants in Oymapinar Dam, ambulances and AFAD (the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) staff are on their way. They will try to remove them using the open road "He went on to say that they are not in any danger.

Mustafa Yigit, the governor of Manavgat District, later announced that ten individuals stranded in the dam had been rescued.

Forest fires broke out in Antalya's Manavgat district on Wednesday and quickly spread across a vast area.

"Three of our citizens died in the fires, and 122 others were injured, while 58 citizens are still being treated," AFAD said of the Manavgat fires.

Firefighters from Antalya, Adana, and Mersin are assisting firefighters from neighboring provinces in putting out flames.

People living near fires in Mersin were evacuated on Wednesday.

Firefighters are battling blazes in the province's two districts.

They're also helping in the Kozan district of Adana province, where a forest fire in the Kizlarsekisi area erupted.

Authorities say the strong wind exacerbated fires that are raging across the region, making it difficult to put out the fires.
