After discussing Hadar Goldin's case with the media, the Israeli army decided to punish his colleagues, according to Channel 12 yesterday evening. Hadar Goldin is an Israeli soldier who is being held as a prisoner of war in Gaza.

The reservists discussed the events surrounding Goldin's capture with the channel.

According to Channel 12, troops from the Givati Reconnaissance Battalion who were present during the attack chastised the Israeli government and army for failing to rescue Goldin over the past seven years.

The Israeli army has decided to "take revenge" on them, according to the broadcaster, and is prosecuting them for their "courageous criticism of the government and army."

The Israeli army's spokesman was quoted by the channel as saying: "Soldiers are not allowed to conduct interviews without prior permission or consultation with their superiors. As a result, they will face legal action."

Lieutenant Hadar Goldin and Sergeant Oron Shaul, two Israeli soldiers, are believed to be imprisoned in Gaza after being killed in action during the 2014 assault on the enclave. Avera Mengistu and Hisham Al-Sayed, two claimed civilians, are also soldiers, according to Hamas, and are being kept as prisoners of war.
