Malaysia committed to donating more than $1 million to Palestine as part of a humanitarian effort to restore Gaza, which was devastated by Israeli attack in May 2021.
The cash would be used to repair the Covid-19 testing facility in Gaza, which was destroyed in an Israeli attack last month, according to Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
He stated in a press statement , "Malaysia would focus on carrying out humanitarian aid operations for the Palestinian people to reconstruct Gaza through cooperation with NGOs."
"I also call on other countries with same resolve to step up and mobilize aid for Palestine." Hishammuddin made the pledge during a meeting with Riyad al-Malki, the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
Malaysia, according to Hishammuddin, would continue to support Palestine and denounce Israel's attacks on Palestinians. He also reaffirmed Malaysia's unflinching support for the Palestinian cause and denounced Israeli abuses against Palestinians.
