Escalation due to Jerusalem clashes
Gaza - Gaza Post
The conflict in Palestine has been flaring for several days between Palestinian demonstrators and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) following the endless Israeli assaults on al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
The Israeli media reported that four rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel, adding that the Israeli occupation’s so-called “Iron Dome” intercepted the rockets. No injuries or damages were reported, according to various Israeli media outlets.
No one claimed responsibility for the rockets fire. In response to launching incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip into Israel, the Israeli authorities imposed a closure off the coast of the Gaza Strip and banned more than 3,000 fishermen from fishing until further notice, Palestinian fishermen said. Meanwhile, masked Palestinian young men launched on Sunday dozens of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip towards Israel causing more than 40 fires in southern Israel. Dozens of young men, members of the a group called the night disturbance unit, gathered on Sunday night at the borderline area between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel.
They burned tires and detonated sound bombs. The escalation of conflict between Israel and the Palestinians was a result of the ongoing clashes between Palestinian demonstrators and the Israeli police forces in the old city in East Jerusalem.
