European Super League
Alexander Cheffrin, President of the European Union, threatened the players of the clubs involved in the establishment of the European Super League with deterrent sanctions, which amounted to denial of participation in the World Cup and the European Championship.
"We are all united against this nonsense, the players who will participate in the European Super League will be prevented from playing in the World Cup and Euro tournament, as well as from playing for their country's finalists," Cheffrin said at a press conference today, Monday.
The European Union President criticized the actions of Ed Woodward, Vice-President of Manchester United, and Andrea Annelly, President of the Juventus Club.
The President of the European Union added: "He called me and Doard last Thursday night and expressed his satisfaction with the scheme to structure the UEFA Champions League system in a new way and that he supported it, but he was clearly thinking of something else."
He completed: "What Andrea Aneli has done is the biggest disappointment of all, I've never seen someone lie so many times so adamantly as he did. It's unbelievable. "
The official Real Madrid website published a consolidated statement for the 12 clubs, stating: "The founding clubs are: Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Tottenham. "
