Many users sometimes complain about WiFi's poor at home, and the problem may be with the settings of a router or poor service provided by a telecommunications company.

But most of the time the Wi-Fi is weak because of certain furniture we have at home or things close to our router or computers.

Elements that represent the main enemies of Wi-Fi, useful tips to avoid poor communication.

1. Metal surfaces and furniture

The metal is connected, which means it absorbs electricity, and since the Wi-Fi network emits electromagnetic waves, any metal surface or body in your home will prevent the waves from spreading, so if you want your Internet connection to work without problems, it's necessary to put the router away from the metal.

2.  Brick and stone walls

Some types of walls stop your Wi-Fi signal, and one of the most common items that prevent reliable communication is marble, cement, concrete and brick, This explains why Internet access on one floor is poor in two-story houses, and to fix that, put your router in an open area and away from the walls.

3. Mirrors

The material that allows us to see our image in the mirror also reflects the signal from the router. It acts as a shield, making the Internet connection bounce, and when it's close to the router it can make the power of the signal slower and unstable.

4. Refrigerators and washing machines

As a general rule, electrical devices containing water-rotating pipes are not Wi-Fi friendly, and water may retain some power from radio waves, negatively affecting the quality of Internet communication.

5. Baby monitors

These screens generate an overlap of 2.4 GHz, just like Wi-Fi, and when two or more devices send the same frequency, those devices use air to send their data instead of sending waves as in the case of radio communication, although child monitors usually require a network connection to work properly, you need to avoid putting them near the router.

6. Microwave

This is another device that has a frequency spectrum similar to the one used by Wi-Fi, so if your router is close to this device, it lifts it to a place above the microwave level, and it reduces the negative impact that microwave can have on communication significantly.
