The World Bank announced a new grant of $ 25 million to assist Palestinian municipalities in dealing with the consequences of the Corona pandemic.
"The World Bank has agreed to provide a grant of $ 15 million to help Palestinian communities continue providing basic services and providing work opportunities for families whose income has been harmed by the Corona crisis," the bank said in a statement released in Washington time (dawn today, Saturday Palestinian time).
The World Bank-managed Trust Fund for Palestinian Partnership for Infrastructure Development will provide additional funding from donors in the amount of $ 10 million to finance the third phase of the municipal development project, according to the announcement.
The partnership between the World Bank and donors serves as a model for collaboration to help mitigate the sharp decline in municipal spending and its effect on service delivery, especially health services and facilities, according to the statement.
As a result, this grant will assist Palestinian people, especially those in need, in remaining healthy and secure.
