An official in the Israeli occupation army expressed, on Saturday, his preference for seeing an Israeli soldier killed rather than hearing the news of his kidnapping, in his first comment on an incident of Palestinians beating a commando soldier and robbing his weapon inside the occupied Palestinian interior since 1948.

According to the Hebrew newspaper Yediot Aharonot, the commander of the "Aguz" special military unit with the Israeli occupation asserted that "the soldier with whom the accident occurred does not deserve to remain in his military unit, because he failed to preserve his military honor, which is the weapon."

The Israeli officer said: “In war, I do not accept the presence of a captured soldier unless it is a dead body,” indicating that a soldier who cannot defeat two people during a confrontation has no place in the “Aguz” unit, explaining that these are some of the basic standards in the unit, the most prominent of which are neither captured soldiers nor kidnapping weapons.

The newspaper indicated that these statements sparked angry reactions in the occupation.
