The British authorities are preparing to close the "The Lam and Flag" Café, which has been working for more than 450 years, at the end of this month, as a result of the economic losses it suffered due to coronavirus.

The old café, which was frequented by a number of writers and intellectuals, is owned by the prestigious St. Johns University.

Since 1997, the university has used the coffee’s profits to fund scholarships for graduates, while the university has stated that students who receive scholarships will not be affected by the closure of the café and that it will fund scholarships immediately after that.
