Amnesty International's Executive Director, Kenneth Roth, confirmed that the term of outgoing Republican US President Donald Trump was "catastrophic in terms of human rights."
During a press conference reported by international media, Ruth said, "Trump has been during the past four years" indifferent, even hostile to human rights."
Roth described the election of Joe Biden, as a real opportunity to change the image, calling on the new US president to cooperate with leaders who work to strengthen the defense of human rights in the world.
The organization considered "Trump's violation of human rights inside his country and encouraging such a matter abroad has negatively affected the credibility of the United States in the world." The US administration, headed by Democrat Joe Biden, must work with all possible means to place the principle of respect for human rights at the heart of US policy.
