Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi today affirmed in his summit meeting with President Mahmoud Abbas in Cairo his country's firm support of the Palestinian people and their just cause until they obtain their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The two leaders held talks that touched upon various developments on the Palestinian arena and a number of issues of common interest to their countries.

On his part, President Abbas commended Egypt on its positions and role in supporting the Palestinian people’s rights to freedom and independence as well as on its ongoing quest for achieving a just and comprehensive peace.

President Abbas arrived in Cairo yesterday coming from Jordan where he held talks with King Abdullah.
