Leader of the Democratic Reformists within Fatah Movement Mohammad Dahlan commented on Saturday on the victory of Joe Biden in the American elections and assuming the president's position to succeed Donald Trump.
“The victory of the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, in the US presidential elections is a positive development that reduces the extreme risks of the Trump / Netanyahu alliance to the Palestinian issue.”
“This opens the horizon for a new peace path based on the two-state solution, as Biden personally promised during his election campaign,” Dahlan said.
He stressed that "the removal of Trump's threat alone is not enough.”
He added that “internal imbalances must be addressed by ending the internal Palestinian division and electing legitimate leaders capable of facing new developments, and emphasizing our red lines in the Jerusalem files.”
Dahlan called for hard work to find creative formulas and visions “that preserve our inalienable rights and are based on Arab and international legal decisions.”
